Bruno premiered Monday night in Paris as an early review gave it a rave. As always, Cohen was in character in Paris as the flamboyant fashion journalist. He wore legless gold glittered lederhosen and was joined by a lederhosen-wearing entourage of models.
British Newspaper The Sun posted a world-exclusive first review of the film, which is extremely positive.
“To say Brüno makes uncomfortable viewing is an understatement of Battle of Britain proportions“
“When I wasn’t giggling like a 14-year-old, I was cowering behind my hands. And I wasn’t just hiding from the acres of kugelsack, Brüno’s word for the lunchbox, shown during the 90 minutes. I also saw enough “arshenhaller” bleaching to last a lifetime.“
“Brüno has only been in love twice. Once for just seven minutes with Eighties pop act MILLI VANILLI and the second time with his pygmy boyfriend who dumps him when he loses his TV show. And here lies a warning — the pygmy sex scene is one of the most horrific incidents ever committed to celluloid. I’m talking fire extinguishers, champagne bottles and mechanically adapted fitness equipment. Teenage boys should under no circumstances watch this with their parents.”

Greetings from Zion.
I am a Human Being, a Gay man and I absolutely love Sasha Cohen and what he is saying and what he is doing with Bruno. The large majority of Gay men I come across are in fact superficial, materialistic, effeminate walking stereotypes. Far removed from progressive, Gay culture has been bogged down with Image rather then Identity, Persona rather then Personality. I think he is addressing both the bigotry of homophobia and the bigotry of gay culture. He is addressing the total materialism the fashion world promulgates. I don’t consider my sexual preference to be the end all be all of my being and I don’t consider my worth as a Human Being to be relative to my cloths. It is brilliant satire.
I’m just glad finally some one is saying it.
Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.
Love is the law, love under will.
